Everybody thinks that if you blew up an ant's body to be the same mass as a human, then they would be super strong. But I had a biology teacher tell me one time that the materials that make up the body of an ant are super flimsy and only able to support the ant and make it relatively stronger than everything else its size because they're so small. Kind of like how a really small paper sculpture is able to stand and support itself, and maybe even hold something on top of it. But if you enlarged the same paper sculpture, it would just blow over in the wind and not be able to support large objects resting on it.

This is the case for all bugs. They're specifically made to function at their size. If they were our size, then they'd quickly succumb to the forces of gravity.
