I'm going to have to take my hat off for Broughton's Old Jock, with its comically ridiculous label:

http://www.cyclingscot.co.uk/uploads/1/1/4/8/11482127/p48.png

This may be the best bang for buck beer I've ever had. Ridiculously tasty, balanced, and strong. This shit is powerful at 6.7% in a 500ml bottle. And it's cheap too, at 2 quid a bottle (that's 2.58 per 500mls, for you yanks).

Look at that foam:

Stunning.

Sam Adams Boston Lager is my "goto."

But basically whenever I buy a case of sam adams, I also buy a 6 pack of other random beers to try out.

That beers looks pretty good though and I am a fan of darker beers.

For the most part I get beer from this local brewery I'm a member of, Track 7. Membership gets me 2 growlers per week. They're trying to perfect their NE style IPA, so a lot of those lately.

Discovered this a couple weeks ago.

http://thebarleyblog.com/images/perennial-ales-sump.jpg

A little pricey but it's probably my favorite stout at the moment. Incredible.

St Archer IPA for a cheap go to that I can get at stores.

I don't drink as much anymore, so I stopped ticking beers. Last I remember my list was at something like 1300.

I mostly stick to Victory beers (Dirtwolf, HopDevil, Headwaters and Prima Pils.)

Lagunitas IPA and Lagunitas Sucks are always good.
Troeg's Perpetual IPA, Bell's Two Hearted.

When available, Troegs Nugget Nectar and Bell's Hopslam.

Of course Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Torpedo.

And on the very rare occassion, a Founders Breakfast Stout, but I'm very much a hop whore.

No you don't, I just found that photo online as it shows the quality of the foam. You want a bit of head as that's where the smell is. So you probably want no more than an inch of head per glass.

These are things I'll never admit to knowing in real life because I don't want to be that guy.

new belgium tripel

8.5% abv, $10 for a six pack (60floz) which translates to the equivalent of 2.3 quid

i try not to think about the fact that miller owns them now. it's a great beer bursting with clove and banana esters and the strong aroma of candi sugar.

victory also now does a brett-aged version of their golden monkey called sour monkey. $12 for a sixpack, so still cheap AF. 9.5% abv and delicious, but clean sour notes, with their usual characteristic banana esters being way more muted in this one.

Coopers Ale from Australia got into a similar problem when they came out as endorsers against gay marriage. I can't drink their beer anymore, which pains me because it's delicious. But I'm one of those liberals cucks so I can't be putting money into companies that spend their profits endorsing political campaigns I don't agree with.

Well yeah
Bud, miller, coors, etc... are all awful beers. If I wanted water I would drink water

I mean, if someone is giving it to me sure I will drink it, but it's certainly not my preference.

If you like them that's fine, as you are an adult with your own opinion and everything, but that's not the same as liking them because of how good they are. That's liking them because you like them.

You might decide that the chicken burger at Burger King is the best chicken burger you've ever had, but ultimately you're not getting the best ingredients or the best method of putting them together, or even the best chef behind the grill. See the difference? There's a level of respect you can afford to something that was made with quality and care and skill. That's appreciating craftsmanship.

Good beer is made with love. Miller's mission is to serve you cheap alcohol for maximum profit.

Let it be known that I am aware of how much of a giant fucking hipster I am. I just think being a hipster is good.
