So like the first internet troll had to have realized that there was someone out there he could rile up with something. So first he had to plan what he was going to get people riled up about. Then post it. Then like a patient hunter in a tree stand he waits for someone to take the bait.

To his immense happiness, many enablers took the bait. He feels this tingly feeling in his finger tips as he clicks refresh on his browser and sees more enablers taking the bait. It doesn't matter that his bait is nonsensical or that the enablers don't like him and just post insults. All that matters is he is getting attention and getting people riled up. It makes him giddy.

On the other side of the internet connection is the enabler. This person cruises internet forums for bait. He knows he's taking bait and that's okay with him. He gets a chance to voice his opinion. Which is pretty much his sole purpose. He can't see that he is just exasperating a situation that doesn't need to become what it will without his enabling. But he gets those butterflies in his stomach and a satisfying spinning in this head when he knows he's made a post lambasting the troll, and can't help himself. If he just ignored the troll, the troll would have no fuel for the fire and nothing would happen.

It's a beautiful symbiotic relationship that both parties mutually benefit from. The internet continues to flourish as this relationship has become the fuel for all that is needed for the internet to remain relevant. If someone didn't troll staples.com with a bad review of rubber bands; there would be no enabler to lambaste them for it.

I guess I would qualify as an enabler and I find trolls are worse >_>

I will purposefully mess with trolls if I can get them suspended/banned in the process.

The fam is a good example of a bunch of trolls that are fun to "enable."

If the enabler does that, yes I find them worse. If you are cognizant enough to realize you are either a troll or an enabler, own it.

Trolls wouldn't be shit without enablers. "Oh look, it's a troll topic, let's act raged and make it a 500 post topic" while the troll hasnt gone back into the topic and it's just a bunch of enablers arguing with no one.

So yah, enablers are by far the worst.
