Perhaps pay attention to the news a little more. His illegal Muslim ban keeps getting shot down in court because of what he's said.

People like Sean Spicer are trying to say it isn't a ban so it has a chance to not get shot down by the SC and now Trump torpedoed any chance of it not being overturned.

If you just said the quote as I posted it, there would have been no semblance of hostility whatsoever. you're giving someone condescending advise that you, yourself, don't follow

The president absolutely has the authority to do something like the Muslim ban but he will very likely lose the case ENTIRELY because he cannot stop publicly stating that he is doing it because of animus against Muslim countries/people. He could have given almost any other reason (or just shut the fuck up about it) and the ACLU and others would have a massive hurdle to climb in proving it was enacted out of malice. But Trump cannot stop going out of his way to prove them indisputably correct.
