We'd go back and forth between america and europe and every time I was really scared of flying

To reassure me, my mom would hold my hand and say something like "don't worry, if we die at least we die together."

The dying together thing really does comfort me. I'll tell that to myself when I'm in dangerous situations, like if I'm a passenger in a car when the driver is shit-faced, or if I'm on the back of a motorcycle going 90mph down the freeway. It makes feel better knowing I won't be bleeding out on the side of the road alone.
