I am General Maxwell of the Great Army of the Republic. I feel...as it is almost the end of me...and my troops. The enemy...had a sneak attack that caught us off guard. We tried...to fight of the assault, but they were too numerous. And so...I and some others lie near our death bed, gravely injured, no longer able to fight. The commander of our enemy is coming...and he'll deal our eternal punishment.... Please...for the sake of the Republic...take this letter and inform our commander-in-chief of the oncoming threat...and wield a blade and gun to fight for your country...please, this is my final request....
