YouTube thumbs up/down ratios are usually a fairly decent indicator when it comes to calling out bullshit. If it's a clickbait title, video sucks, or something's annoying, it's almost always an automatic downvote from other users.

HOW does THIS video have so many thumbs ups? The guy looks and sounds like he is on some crazy stupid drugs, offers NO evidence of his claims, and even shows dogs squatting down to shit... and the comments (his supporters?) seem convinced he's right. This is the most nutjob video I've seen in a while but the thumbs up to thumbs down ratio defies everything I've ever known about YouTube. Only logical explanation I can think of is that the dude created hundreds of YouTube accounts, but even that's a stretch.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4GT3Oo7RNQ

Don't get me wrong-- I'm all ears when it comes to ANY conspiracy theories... but I've never heard any compelling evidence for why they think the world is flat.

I've seen other videos even claiming that military bases exist in Antarctica to "guard the earth's border."

The reason the like/dislike ratio on dumb videos can stay intact is that people searching for "proof" of something probably want proof, because they already believe in it. Nobody sane wants to hear that ramble or go out of their way to find it.

I agree with this, but still find it puzzling that flat earthers would give THIS video in particular a thumbs up.

When you look something up that you're interested on YouTube and stumble across clickbait, does it still make you happy? You searched for a topic you were interested in, but instead you were duped into watching something that didn't escalate your interest.

They probably searched for every video they could get their hands on. That's what you do when you have a crazy belief, you look everywhere for reasons to keep believing it.

If you're subbed to a channel that has unpopular opinions, but sticks to those opinions, the only people watching those videos will have those opinions.

Example, Liberal videos with 99% likes, Conservative videos with 99% likes. They don't mingle.

Yeah, sorry, I honestly missed it then. I'm not sure which topic you're referring to. Do you have a link? Was someone here trying to argue the earth was flat in a topic you made?

Since PotD purges I do not.

They were claiming to be someone that didn't know if the earth was flat or round. Mostly just being obtuse and denying evidence that supports the spherical shape of the earth. Totally hung up on digital zoom and not believing NASA.

The video itself is strange. It seems to say some rather nice things about Tesla, which I'm fine with, however gives little to no evidence at all to support any kind of flat earth theory that I could find. It's just a random video about a dude driving around saying that antennas are satellites with some music playing, a few minutes of cats, and some talk about dreams, with some random Tesla and Einstein information spliced in. If this is an attempt to make an argument for a theory for flat earth.... I'll give it a F for it's substance and maybe a D for production quality.

Pretty fair analysis of it, I'd have to agree. Giving the production quality even a D is still being generous as hell.
