You battled NPCs in the story mode for card drops and gold, you bought packs, and you could research new card combinations to use in battle. It was fun up until the company got greedy and started locking things behind a pay wall. It used to be that all paying for premium packs got you was powerful "final" cards, which are certainly cool and all but not at all necessary. The "base" cards were what were really important because those were what let you do research and in battle they could fuse into the final cards anyway. The special base cards were just part of doing the event scenarios, which was fair. But at some point they got the idea to make new base cards and make them premium pack exclusive, and it wasn't even a guaranteed pull if you bought them. No thank you. They also upped the difficulty in the story mode to make it practically impossible to beat later battles without paying for upgrades. --- BK_Sheikah? Classics like learn to fly or upgrade complete as well as some really cool tower defense like the protector series. Lots of good free content if one is bored or has somewhat lower expectations. Nowadays it seems filled with Random Idle Game #23489 (and I've even gotten hooked on one or two of these), but every now and then I check back to see if something worthy has emerged.
