There's no problem teaching the history of the Civil War anywhere else in the country and they don't have monuments dedicated to Confederates dotting their streets. Most people don't value things like owning slaves or cessation anymore, so it makes sense to take them down. Historical pieces, however, belong in museums, which is where they generally put things with historical content.
