Social justice is a cause worth fighting for, always, always, always! Social justice is worth fighting for.

I do truly believe that. I've believed it all my life!

Other people wrap themselves in cynicism and bitterness. The older they get, the more they stray from the path, the more lost they become... It feels good to be outraged. It feels good to post threads on the Internet stewing over this or that, to feel the moral superiority that comes from elevating oneself above others -- and the positive reinforcement that comes from being in like-minded company, backed up by others who are just as lost.

Don't. It's not a path to righteousness, or to happiness. It is the path to destruction... And the path to radicalization, as too often happens when groupthink encourages a small cadre of people who are closed-off from the world to become increasingly extreme in their views.

Rise above it!

Don't ever be ashamed! Don't even be embarrassed! Many great men and women throughout history have fought for justice, from John F. Kennedy to Martin Luther King to Pope John Paul II, and many more! Stand up for the people in this world who are disadvantaged or oppressed, from the transgenders who are loathed, to the Muslims who are looked on fearfully, to the homeless and the poor of every race, ethnicity, and walk of life who live one paycheck away from the streets -- or worse.

Believe in diversity and multiculturalism! Believe in a global community and the power of human beings to come together! Believe in love, and in friendship, and all the other positive things in life we think are hokey. No, this isn't a troll post, and what does it say about the culture of this place that it will be assumed to be one? Believe in things that are good, and never be ashamed of it. Others may deride you for it, but whoever you are, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and their arrows will bounce right off of you.

There is so much beauty in this universe... If only each of us would sow seeds of kindness instead of trying to tear our neighbors down, how much better would our world be? Never be afraid to stand up for social justice. It's one of the few ways things have ever gotten better.
