I said people failed to mention that there was a day with no minorities. What I said about the dialogue was that the information not being included just paints the affair as one day where white people are asked not to be on campus. Yes, some people acting like assholes isn't cool, but that's part of the selective dissemination of information. To some, it paints the picture that white people are being harangued across campus for a day. To some, it paints the picture that there's an unruly uprising brewing at college campuses all while neglecting the fact that there is a day where minorities discluded too and hell, who knows what actual dialogues were actually taken during any of the previous years.

It was a voluntary day - not one where anyone was discluded, as they were all allowed to still attend. It was just a tradition to gather and talk (or not, as you said) based off of some play. Ive not read much of the topic on CE, but i've seen the voluntary meeting repeatedly mentioned elsewhere and used against the protesters, as it should be.

So are you upset people aren't mentioning another issue with these protestors then?

Second though, I'm not being selective with the information by bringing up more information that has been getting ignored. People in the topic have been treating the "day without white people" thing as a standalone event. Yes, I have said repeatedly that I think the protestors were being ridiculous, so, yes, at some level it is a pertinent issue to bring up in regard to the protestors to make it a point to show that specifically only those students are acting completely against the point of the voluntary day.
