I hated Cow and Chicken, to be honest. Even as a kid, I found the humor to be gross and juvenile, like putting on some play about wieners. (Tee-hee, wieners!)

Yep, I agree. It's why I was surprised it was winning.

I always found the show to just be gross/weird for the sake of being gross/weird.

Cow & Chicken is also great since it has one of these theme songs which explains the premise while simultaneously admonishing you not to think too hard about it.
