Like what the hell is this thing? It's the most JRPG thing I've ever seen in real life. 100% flash, no substance at all. What an incredible gold mine for Trump though.

lol wtf is that. Absolutely amazing

I'd also like to thank you for your offhanded comment about ethereum a week ago. Ended up sending me down a rabbit hole of endless researching and I invested literally all of my free cash into it. I'm up 110% in a week.

Wow yeah looks like it jumped way up again now. Up 300% myself, after thinking I "missed the boat" on it. Though I did only get 2.0 of it so it wasn't a big deal.

I think the main reason is because BTC is going up for all its reasons, but it's showing very massive limitations due to transaction speed and such. People are looking for a blockchain alternative that is more general and scalable much more into the future, which is what ETH is. I hope stores start accepting ETH more now.

Earnestly believe Ethereum is outdoing Bitcoin in a couple/few years time. Like you said the scalability/adaptability of it blows Bitcoin out of the water. BTC built the road but ETH is going to build the cities.

Well the way I see it is that BTC is like trading gold with people. It won't ever lose its value but there is definitely a limit to its efficiency as a currency. While ETH really has the potential to be a widespread blockchain currency.

BTC is going to deflate to an extreme level, so I don't think ETH will take over in that sense. But by market cap, definitely. It's already at like half of BTC's market cap.

Also if I had put all my free cash into ETH when I first bought a couple to get on the train, I would have made more income in the last month than my entire last year of work.

Which is kinda insanely stupid for me to think about. Why am I leaving this money sitting in my bank exactly..?

yep. Basically where I was at. I live pretty frugally. I really only spend money on food, rent, car, cigarettes, alcohol. I don't buy things. My only real monetary motivations are long-term security (being old or getting sick), and employment freedom/entrepreneurial pursuits. Having trivial amounts of cash does nothing for me. Non-existent interest rates also helped.

Although ETH is blood letting pretty good today. Dropped slightly over $20 since the early AM. Still way up though. It's crazy how volatile it is. Lost nearly 2b in mark cap in like 16 hours

Okay yeah that's why I don't want to put my entire bank account into it

I'm way happier not giving a shit about the ups and downs

That being said if I threw in $5k or something I wouldn't worry much either...

ahaha, I probably would have waited a little at this point!

The big movers seem to have sold off a lot today at its peak and it seems to be having the (presumably intended affect) of scaring off the smaller guys so they can re-pop once it bottoms out and maximize their profits. That's my interpretation of events, anyway. All the recent news and developments regarding ETH have been fantastic. No reason for today's decline other than manipulation from the big dawgs. I mean I think it's an amazing long-term play regardless so ultimately who cares that much, but you prob could've maximized a bit better.

Right, I'm just thinking back to my entry into BTC when I got in at 850, it peaked at 1000, then crashed to 250 and I thought I was done with it forever. It's definitely a long term play, I don't want to be left off the train entirely, don't really care about the optimal buy time.

That being said I do wish a month ago when I decided to jump on the train, I put in more than a measly $100... not sure why I was being so cautious.

Rand wasn't libertarian but was Galt in the book? All I know about him was he did a 30 page monologue or something. So maybe it could be a good term for hyper autistic libertarians.

Pinning galt or taggart as a libertarian makes sense as they both have broadly libertarian ideals, and is a probably a safer claim than any sort of political label on a DBZ character

yeah you ended up hitting pretty close to the valley. I think it dipped to like 158/9 soon after and that was it.

Considering buying a moderate sum of ETC while it's relatively cheap and shorting it. The daily cycles are surprisingly predictable. Would be interesting to see if I can pull it off, and if I can't no big deal. If I have success with it, I'll ultimately just add it to my long ETH holdings. Can be fun for a while but I don't want to get caught up in shorting long term.

but I'd honestly move all my BTC to ETH. I don't doubt that btc will rally, but the growth rate, and potential for ETH is absurd at its current price. I genuinely believe it still has 5x returns @ current price in less than a year.

yeah I think part is that and the other part was ETH stalling on ratio. Lot of people in the btc/eth ratio market. Eth was taking off and approaching .11 ratio which for whatever reason was/is a big psychological barrier for people. There was massive support for ratio at .11, and it looked inevitable for a while there. Then the eth stall happened, ratio stalled and btc rebounded.

crypto is so weird
