Remake will likely come out on every system Square can port it to without downgrading it (so probably no 3DS version). It'll probably go to the Switch. They NEED the income the FF 7 remake will bring in. Almost all of their AAA releases in the last few years have either flopped or earned poorly. This is largely because they're giving "popular" franchises like Tomb Raider extremely high production budgets and the games aren't selling well enough to justify it. It doesn't help that the FF 13 trilogy bombed and FF 15 is massively under performing despite being over hyped and given the largest budget in the franchise.
