OOT and RBY side by side...

MGS1, FFT, Starcraft, Xenogears all on the bench

I always thought 98 was strong but just seeing all the games together made me realize just how much it is

Half Life 1 and Banjo Kazooie as well.

Yeah when you have games like Half-Life and Resident Evil 2 missing and no one cares you know the year is strong.

Tenchu didn't get a nod either. Nor Crash 3. Neither did Gran flippin Turismo (which technically came out in Dec '97 in Japan, but in '98 everywhere else).

'98 is so strong that they could leave out every game they featured and it still would have been a strong contender.
