She was running late, so we went the opposite way that we usually go to take off a bit of time. I was the first to notice it lying halfway on the street and grass, literally right down the street from our house (same block, even). Apparently, my parents heard a bunch of gunshots early this morning, and there were several bullets lying on the ground.

EMS and the police are there now, though I can't give any more updates because we had to go on to work (though I think she went back to the house; she's pretty shaken up about it).

Damn, not sure how to ask, but... how'd it make you feel upon discovering it?

Yeah, I've never found a dead human body, but I remember finding a dead dog when I was younger and I got this weird lump in my stomach. Like, that the realization was disturbing and sad... Guessing it's somehow similar if you found a human body, but escalated?

I'd say shocked and disturbed, but I tried to keep my cool, though it's still having an effect on me even now. I've seen dead bodies before (mainly at funerals, as well as my grandmothers minutes after she passed in bed), but this was the first time I've seen one that was actually murdered. He was pretty young (adult-wise), too.

I also never found a dead human. But a few weeks ago I was driving home and saw 2 cars on the side of the road and the drivers besides the vehicles and 5 baby ducks waiting and looking at the road. The mama duck was killed by a car.

It was really heartbreaking.

I spoke with my younger brother, and the victim was someone he knew and went to school with. He didn't hang out with him, but he was the brother of one of his friends; she called him crying after she found out.

I've also been on the lookout for any news articles, but found none (not even from the vultures known as Channel 4). Maybe they reported on it on TV but didn't have an article written for it, but I can't be sure of that.

I had to help carry a dead body once because the guy was pushing 500 lbs so it took like 6 people to get him out of the house

Detroit, so I guess that answers your second question as well.

Not a human, but I encountered one scary situation before.

One time, my mother and I were turning off of one road onto another (one that is a busy one) and right there at the corner was a raccoon, crawling around with it's upper arms and dragging it's flattened body all over the road. We drove by it, got my brother, had a guilty feeling about it and went back. Drivers on both sides of the road used their cars to prevent anyone from hitting it again and were awaiting for some kind of help for it.

It would be one thing if it was dead, but it was alive. It was in pain and it felt its own lower torso flattened. It was scared. It was around fast moving cars. All of this made me feel so bad for it. I don't know what happened from there, but I assume it was put down in the end.

Absolutely heartbreaking.

I drove past a motorcycle accident once. A dead body was laying in the middle of the road and his blood was streaming through the crevasses of the street.

Shit fucked me up for weeks.
