been watching harmonquest and it looks like it could be a good time

going to try and convince my friends to #chill out a little and do some roleplaying

@Balrog0
@Rabid_Banana

I don't really know who the rpg lue crew is except for rog0 and RB

how in depth do i have to go to be able to run a game for my friends and get them into it? does surface level knowledge still make the game fun?

Pathfinder's great, easily the best d20 system.

I've heard people talk about builds where they can roll like 72+ dice for a single attack. Shit seems way too complicated, I'll stick to my 5e.

yeah i know this isn't lue...that reference was more a parody of the fact that i only tagged folks from lue

not really too knowledgeable about CE

So for those who know the game - what is the best way to start? Should I just read up on everything first? Jump right into a game? How do I find a DM? Is online a good way to do this?

etc etc

i threw out a suggestion of doing a lue game but i dont think there was much interest...maybe we can do a CE game...anyone a dungeon master here?

Harmonquest glosses over 99% of the rules that your average tabletop rpg has, but at any rate great choice with Pathfinder, it is my favorite for fantasy by quite a bit.

move all remaining groundhog mercenaries to the front lines. Have sheep troopers squadrons A and B flank the cows. They're using DC-17 hoof blasters.

yeah you know, I figured that while watching.

here's my predicament - I think I will really really enjoy the roleplaying / improv aspect of it all but I'm not sure how well I can keep track of all the rules

I need my own spencer so i can just tell him what i want and he'll tell me yes or no

or maybe ill just learn the rules haha - looks like no one on ce would be interested in doing a game so ill go back to lue and try to convince them

@Leanaunfurled - my high school had lockers so small you couldn't even fit a backpack in there...i really feel like i missed out

As a player, you only really need to know about 5-10% of the rules to play. A good GM will smooth out the rules for their players, so that the mechanics of the game are still present and effect the players, but the interactive story telling remains uncluttered and attack/skill rolls are all you have to worry about.
