There, I said it. They were the same game, but let's face it. Watching Gandalf in turn-based RPG mode is much more rewarding than watching Kimahri. Also, the fight against Sauron is hilarious and truly a testament to how brilliant video games can be.

Consider that they both have horrendous voice acting, equally decent graphics, the exact same combat style, the same save system, similar trees for skills... it's amazing.

I originally came here to disagree, but when you put it like that, I can't disagree with that logic. Not to mention, in the last level Aragorn can summon the Army of the Dead and OHKO every enemy at once. It's the Middle Earth equivalent of Knights of the Round, complete with absurdly long attack animation.

I enjoyed The Third Age.

It's funny because back in the day I wanted the game so badly because of how I heard it was similar to FFX.....and I ended up forgetting and never getting it.

They did use the same combat system (biggest difference was Overdrives vs Perfect Mode) and save system but Third Age did not have the Sphere Grid.

You gain levels which gives you attribute points you can spend on whatever stats you want and characters gain new skills by repeatedly using the old ones. So in that sense very different from FFX.

I meant the skill trees themselves (what skills were in them) were similar.

Kimahri makes Mayweather from Star Trek: Enterprise seem like a deep and meaningful character.

That's pretty top tier imo

Tidus is the Roman Reigns of Final Fantasy X. Everyone exists only to give him a push.
