I got anxious for you just reading that. I don't know why; I literally don't give a crap about your grade. Perhaps, it is my apprehension about taking that class this summer? I don't know.

Oh god, getting that class shortened is going to be awful if you want to understand anything more than just a cursory glance.
The best of luck to you.

It's like sixty percent the length of a normal semester, by the way.

I already took Linear Algebra last summer and Differential Equations this spring. I've always thought it wouldn't be too grueling if I've already taken these classes.

I mean, if you can remember what a Laplace Transform is, you might be able to get by.

I looked at a linear algebra text book and said "nope"

That class is impossible for some people so it's a good accomplishment to pass regardless!

just kidding <.< The highest math I ever had to take was Calculus and a Statistics course. I don't know how you do it. good job!

I remember the days of taking math classes.

It was all super easy. Took Calc 1 in University, no problem.

Took Linear Algebra. Easy peasy lemon squeeze me. Yes, I know that's now how the expression goes. I like it better this way.

Took Calc 2. The fuck is this.

Took Differential Series and Equations. The fuck is that.

Took Calc 3. Just kill me.

But I passed everything... so there's that.

The way you went through math is real confusing, mine just went precalc, Calc 1, Calc 2, Calc 3, Diffiq.

Calc 3 is easier if you can draw, Diffiq is easier if you can wrap your mind around weirder concepts.

Linear algebra sucked. Only math course I made a C in. It wasn't particularly hard but the material is boring, the professor was somehow even more boring, and it was right in the middle of lunchtime.

Yeah, my grad program provided a document breaking down all the algebra and calculus topics they'll review during their pre-orientation math camp (which I can't attend due to work). They included links to all the Khan Academy lessons that go with each topic, so I can self-study for the placement tests.

Nice job, I thought I was decent at math until Linear Algebra came along, which I passed by the skin of my teeth. To be fair (I know it's not the best excuse), but the average score for every exam in my class was always abysmal.

so you think linear algebra is the toughest math course you've seen? Have you taken organic chemistry? I heard that was hard, but what good is all 3 of em' in the real world?

Math is not my strong suit, but I plan on changing majors right after I get my Associates Degree from Computer Information Technology to Computer Science, which means a lot more math is involved.

At least programming in C based languages helped me understand and appreciate math even more, even though it's the computer that solves everything for me, and all I want to do is declare variables, change their type, and do other things depending on the solution to each problem I have.

Doing Pre-Calc, Calc 1, Calc 2, and Classical Physics is going to be fun...

Yeah, full on math majors have to take them one at a time, but my engineering course doesn't.
Also mine went into Vector Space theory with subspaces, spanning, and those sorts of things.

the only math course after high school that I didn't have to take twice was Calculus 2, and that was a fluke

courses I took twice:
Calc 1
Discrete Math
Linear Algebra
Stats 1

courses I dropped:
second year stats
Abstract Algebra
abstract algebra/cryptography hybrid

I think an inherent problem with courses is that the difficulty varies so significantly. you almost can't be ready sometimes for how hard one course might be, when meanwhile three other courses you're taking you can sleep through without issue. and then take a course that's insanely hard to begin with and give it a prof who barely teaches, mumbling and scribbling his way through every lecture, and you're screwed unless you realize right away that you need to teach yourself the content as fast as you can.

I have a degree in mathematics. DE was one of my strongest courses.

My worst math course was Analysis. The most insulting part of it was that it was just Calculus 1 with proofs.

That sounds like finding a second solution to a second-order differential equation when given the first solution. So I'm guessing you're referring to an ODE class by itself.
