Metallica is one of the biggest bands in the world. Not surprising that they'd go on for a few hours.

maybe i am jaded from all the bands that delay until 9:30 then play a 1hr set because they have to be out by 11

but metallica hit the stage as fast as they could at like 8:25 and was still launching fireworks and playing enter sandman at 11:01

they opened with hardwired and IMMEDIATELY followed with atlas as if the two were designed to chain into one another

throughout the set the screens reverted to a red distorted face shot anytime they played stuff off their 2016 album. very helpful for identifying the new songs

but over that 2.5 hours they played essentially every single they've ever released

Idk man, from what I saw for ticket prices for NOSE BLEEDS fuck that dude. Lars is lazy, Kirk is sloppy, I still can't get over James voice these days and their guitar tone is horrendous. Although they were pretty dope at Yankee Stadium for the Big Four show back in 2012?

I'd like to go seen em again but not for those prices at this point in their career. Glad you had a good time though.

lars was great last night. kirk WAS sloppy, I will admit. There were parts of One that he was flubbing and I was like "whoa did that just happen?"

James' voice was great, there were just some moments in hardwired where I think he missed the emphasis. But it's a live performance, there are always flaws in a live performance. It did not ruin the experience.

The ticket prices are a result of dicks buying up the tickets and selling them all at inflated cost; waiting until like a week before to buy actually is better than buying months in advance.

the new album is sweet. death magnetic is...not, but they only did 1 song off it. they played almost every song off the black album and i dont think you could complain about that.

btbam has been so self indulgent for so long it's kind of hard to keep enjoying them, plus nothing they've made is as good as silent circus

PTH is amazing and they were awesome when I saw them live in February

Haunts my fucking life

I've listened to that album almost 1500 times start to finish and love it more every time. I can hum every note in ants of the sky (where my band name comes from) and white walls

And pacific myth is playing right now. Did you like volition?

I agree, I did enjoy great misdirect a bit but it wasn't as good as colors and I think their last consistently good album was colors. My favorite happens to be silent circus

I love everything PTH has done, they're one of my favorites. They've managed to wow me somehow in every record

IMO the best song they've made is c'est la vie

Watched a video of One via Blabbermouth a min ago and he didn't even do the double bass breakdown. Just some lame ass single kicks. Like that is what the song is fucking known for. I can't get on board with that and support such laziness. Stop being lazy and fucking practice. There are bands who have been around just as long and play their shit how it's meant to be played.
