Current Events > night shift and working 84 hours a week is starting to get to me

I just stopped for groceries at Walmart on my way home, loaded up my car then started my car, rested my head back 'for a minute' and next thing I knew it was 2&1/2 hours later. And even after that I was still fighting to keep my eyes open and stay between the lines on my way home. Had a couple 'oh shit' moments on the way home.

Holy Fuck. Did you burn somebody's house down as punishment for fucking you over like that? I'm not saying I wouldn't. I mean by all means you should try to take legal action first, but if that doesn't work then idk man. Thank God I'm Union so I don't have to put up with that kind of shit.

No I'm wide awake now. I'm gonna take tonight off though to have a day to catch up on my sleep because next week we're going to start working 14 hour days 7 days a week. The good thing is every 15th day it's mandatory to take a day off.

I don't do this shit year round. I'm basically like a squirrel preparing for winter, Im working a ton of hours the last 2 months and the next few weeks then I'm going to take the whole summer off then do this again in the fall then chillax all winter. It's actually a pretty sweet deal. Normally I only work about 6-8 weeks then take 2 or 3 months off. This project is just running a few weeks longer than normal.

I do run a small business on the side which is much more active during my off season but I don't really have to. I just don't like sitting around not making money because I feel like people who aren't always trying to increase their net worth are wastes.

The trick is to just never sleep. Real talk if I get 5 hours of sleep in a night I'm lucky. I usually only get around 4 hours lately. My fiancee who only works 25-30 hours a week is too much of a lazy bitch to take clcare of our kid without my help while I'm working crazy hours. Yesterday she woke me up 2 hours after I went to bed just so I could help her watch our kid while she gets ready for work and help her take shit out to the car. Then she wonders why I'm "being mean" to her lately.
