And yes there whole goal is to get inside your house and they will make up anything to accomplish that goal. As far as I know no one has ever let them in so we don't know what they want. Can't be good though. And surprisingly it isn't the black eyes that freak people out. Yes that's the first thing they notice in the stories but it's almost like they give off a physical aura of dread and terror.
