wheat beers like blue moon or the cervezas like dos equis are really easy to drink and a step above the most popular brands I think
and sierra nevada has some of the best beers you are going to find in major grocers but some people hate ipas

otherwise, I would just try local based on availability

Rogue Dead Guy Ale is my go-to for beer in general, it's complex but drinkable for just about every taste

honestly you can't go wrong with any lager or ale you see at a store. i'd probably avoid stouts/IPAs/etc at this point until you have a little more of a familiarity with beer and the different tastes.

Where do you live? Because if it's Northwest USA, you can probably get some Great Lakes brand beers. And they've got a very well-rounded offering.

Their basic variety pack is pretty much perfect.

Go with the "heavy" version of the popular beers. So instead of bud light, get regular budweiser.
I also agree with people saying Dos Equis and Negra Modela. They have flavor and are very smooth.

new belgium tripel. $9.99 for a sixpack of 9.5% abv beers that have a high residual sugar content, so they're easy to drink but a good value.

tripel as a style is hard to dislike. it has complexity from the unique yeast used to make it, but if that's not your thing the sugar content is enough of a distraction that you'll still enjoy it.

Hoegaarden and Smithwicks are two of my favorites that are pretty easy to find and go down smooth

Both are better if you pour them into a glass though so don't make the mistake of sipping them straight from the bottle

That's why I stick with Bud light and those hard cider things. At least the taste is good.

Do you want to get drunk for as cheap as possible and dont care about flavor: Steel reserve
Do you just want to drink beer as drink to go with a meal and want something cheap as shit: PBR or budweiser
Do you want to get into good beer and want a good flavor but dont like a bitter taste: Any pilser from a good brand
Do you want to drink a good beer and want to get a kick: Drink an ipa. Would recommend the lagunitas IPA
Do you want an great beer and like a sour taste: a duchess sour. Expensive, be warned. as are all sours
Do you like coffee and a kick? try drinking a coffee stout

Sours or IPAs are my go to beers. Sours are a great summer beer, while IPAs are good for whenever. Light beers like Bud Light and Michelob suck. If you're gonna go for one of the major brand's I'd go for Coors.
