I actually did manage to hit the Piranha Plant boss with an egg once by jumping off the platform, timing the hover perfectly so that I went just below the platform, throwing and then hovering back up.

Missing basic mechanics in games is the best way to become fucking great at them.

I didn't realize there was a run button until halfway through RE4. If you ever replay it, get to that part with the giant pendulum blades and try it without running. That shit legitimately took me twenty minutes.

I believe that I actually thought it was silly there wasn't and looked in the two in-game tutorial files right at the start. I don't think they tell you about it.
