Especially with arms extended to the side? It's like... what?

Hope they do it for the new live action dc movie. Snyder's immature Grimdarkness and drab colors juxtapositioned with such a silly old school comic book move would be hilarious.

Grimdarkness

Why are you using an anime term to describe a DC superhero movie?

Grimdarkness

Why are you using an anime term to describe a DC superhero movie?

Grimdark is a subgenre or a way to describe the tone, style or setting of speculative fiction (especially fantasy) that is, depending on the definition used, markedly dystopian or amoral, or particularly violent or realistic. The word was inspired by the tagline of the tabletop strategy game Warhammer 40,000: "In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war."

Lynda starts the spin, then they cut, Lynda changes into costume, returns to set and spins again, and the two shots are blended together. In later episodes, the 'explosion' effect was added to make that blending significantly easier.

I only ever hear it used in a derogatory manner.

That's nice, but it was literally coined by WH40k / GamesWorkshop which is as western as it gets.

That's how all women changed clothes in the 70s.

Dressing rooms looked like fireworks.

It wasn't coined by them. It says right there that it was taken from W40K's tagline, and not even word for word.

Grim dark has been used to describe various comic related media for as long as I've been into comics. And I've been into comics for a very long time.
