I know, that means the takeover of trash is now complete. Everything is now basically a sequel.

You sound mad.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was a sequel that built on the original. And most original movies just don't make enough money so that's why Hollywood thrives on sequels.

Blame the consumers for how Hollywood is.

I'm not. I just don't deflect blame. Deflection is a primitive coping mechanism.

Hollywood wants to make money. Sequels/franchises make more money than original movies. So they focus on sequels/franchises.

It's not hard to figure out and you can't blame a business for making more of what sells. I mean you can, but that just makes you ignorant. Again, the problem lies with the general audience not seeing enough original films to justify making fewer sequels.

OK so here's one thing you don't know yet you've automatically assumed to be the case - you don't know that something original and new and well made would not make any money.

Now you're just being dense. Original movies do not make the same kind of money that franchises do. There's a site, boxofficemojo.com, go there and look at all the original films that came out last year.

I'll give you that it is a bigger risk to do something new and original. But yeah, that doesn't mean the fault lies with consumers. If the film industry barely ever takes the risk then the consumer has no choice but to see the same shit they saw before. It becomes creative stagnation and to put that all on the consumer (who don't produce and make the movies) is painfully stupid. I mean I want to punch the person that taught you how to type.
