But I do agree, the Johto games were probably the best in the series. It's also right before a lot of modernization of the battle mechanics in gen3&4 so it doesn't even have super good gameplay going for it. It didn't add very many new pokemon, and wasted too many of those valuable slots on evos and pre-evos.
