For me it's that whole dad promises his kid they're going to go for ice cream/a movie/baseball game/whatever but then he has to cancel because of something super major at work (like a murder investigation or something) and his kid and wife are all mad at him / guilt tripping him

plot armor- if you're not gonna kill someone stop putting them in fake 'near death situations'

idiot ball- if your story requires a character to make choices way less intelligent than they clearly are, your story sucks.

these two are basically why i couldn't enjoy man in the high castle.
