I enjoyed it in the early seasons when Penny was still super barbie-ish and the 4 nerds (and Stuart) actually embodied nerd stereotypes of the time to an extent. Yeah the laugh track was a bit much but it was enjoyable as a silly late night comedy. Even my step dad enjoyed it and he hates everything.

Now though it's completely unwatchable. Penny was turned into a really unlikable passive aggressive character, the nerd stereotypes no longer made any sense and the laugh track seems to never turn off.

Giving them all girlfriends/wives ruined the show, as neckbeardy as it sounds.

I've also noticed that it's really popular with old people for some reason. You'd think with its association with modern tech and they'd be less interested in it

When a show is made to make fun of a group of people that group tends to not like that show.

Most of "jokes" are just "look at how nerdy they are."

First season is nothing like later ones. They make lots of obscure jokes that only actual nerds would get. Like at the time they were trying to make it for nerds.

Then it got popular and it turned into "Herp derp NERD!!!"
