The problem with communism and the like is that they try to implement post-capitalistic policies without the technology needed for them to actually work. Proper way is to use capitalism to push advancement until we can get to a point where labor has no actual value and the system collapses. Obviously that's a pretty major problem with the implementation, but, for example, the USSR and Cuba both made great technological advancements (USSR getting the first man into space, Cuba having the single best healthcare system in the world, etc). Though I recognize that neither was a fully communist nation, i also don't think there's any reason to believe that such innovation would have stopped had either been allowed to reach the final stage of Marxism. Which brings me to another point - I think an equal (or possibly even greater) issue is the US interfering in countries attempting to implement communist policies. --- peanut butter and dick ...
