Just started Star Ocean 2 the other day and the main character (one of the choices) is named Cloud--er... Claude--and the first dungeon is Don Coreno's basement, where he has taken a kidnapped ally of the main character that he met just after falling--er... being teleported--from a grimdark area into a place filled with lots of pretty vegetation.

In fairness, it also feels like a bit like a Tales game I guess.

the first star ocean game for the snes looks almost exactly like the first tales game for the snes
its because they were made by basically the same people.

i prefer playing as the girl in star ocean 2 cause it feels more like the first one when you are playing as a member of the alien race
