FPS games suffer the worst. There have been so many advances in the genre that there's no reason other than nostalgia to play pretty much anything pre-360/PS3 gen.

It's going completely backwards. Smaller team sizes, getting rid of advanced movement tech, more focus on skills instead of actually shooting which has been dumbed down the most it could possibly be. You couldn't even aim down the sights with most guns. Regenerating health gets a lot of shit, but health pickups weren't very fun either. Cyclcing through like 10 guns was a pain.
