Aside from being itchy and annoying, facial hair hides my cheek bones and jawline

Facial hair stops being itchy after a few weeks of growing. If you keep a neatly trimmed beard that's close to the face, you get the masculinity of the beard while still keeping the jaw line visible.

I've got a round face and a weak jawline, so my beard really boosts my masculine appearance.

If I had a more defined jaw and cheek bones, I'd be clean shaven, or at least just have a little stubble. Beards aren't needed for real handsome men, and it's more impressive for them to show that off.

I cannot grow a good bear, so I stay clean shaven.

Whether or not I have attractive features remains to be seen.
