Current Events > CE, I have had four infatuations.

All were failures. Maybe the second had promise, but probably not.

I wish I had the guts to ask though. Perhaps my biggest regret in life was being too scared.

I blame the girl who had to ask my 2nd infatuation if she liked me when she was right by me. She looked disgusted as she said no and my heart was broken that day. Sometimes I wonder if she really meant it or if it was out of being embarrassed. Perhaps, finally being able to get a girlfriend would have made me a better person.

I think I will probably never get one now; I have only went downhill from there.

Sometimes I do want to ask my 2nd infatuation if she had any feelings for me, to finally know the truth, but that would be stupid. I should just accept that no girl has or will ever like me romantically.

I hope I never have another infatuation. Love that is lost is a terrible feeling.

Infatuation is pretty bad, because you don't even know if you really like the person. You're basically just obsessed with a few superficial qualities that they have, but you don't really know them that well. You could get to know them and not like them at all.

If she "looked disgusted" when you were right there, that's pretty cold. Probably not that great of a person if she does that. Always better to ask them and know for sure. It sucks being rejected, but it sucks just as much not knowing and having to wonder about it years later if you don't end up finding someone.

In middle School, I developed a 1.5 year crush on my first infatuation. She found out through extremely embarrassing means that ruined my trust in people.

No one has ever taken me seriously, so why bother. I'm a bust of a human being. Every year is a year closer to when I am finally exposed as the fraud I always knew I was.
