Like they vote for something unpopular, and spam everything to get people to vote for said less-popular item so they would have the edge?

IIRC people on an individual level have been found out to be vote stuffing through scripts and such.

Rallying has happened before too - Undertale last contest being a notable one.

L-Block, Draven, and Undertale all come to mind.

Rallying is something that exists but idk if it's actually bad.

Obviously the contest gets somewhat ruined if people aren't voting based on their preferences, but it's also kind of a pointless contest if "the thing that is more popular" always gets more votes.

How dare things that are more popular win a popularity contest.

Rallying has happened before yes. Outright cheating is something entirely different though. People have been caught before trying to vote stuff, usually ends with a ban.

I'm not saying that things that are popular shouldn't win. I'm saying that getting mad that people vote against Link because they don't want Link to win again is silly.

^ I would think people would be mad if there was a prize involved, and said prize was taken away as a result.

Don't see who would get angry that someone likes one thing more than another thing....

except the millions/billions of people that prefer Freemium Mobile Game over good game...

I seem to recall Luster being punished for vote stuffing.

Proudclad also tried to script his way into winning a monthly contest, but he'll never admit it was cheating.

I thought it was him but I wasn't sure.
