Is it absolutely certain, and not "Well, false alarm!" ? It would be awkward to do something and them the world doesn't end.
Because if it is just 15 minutes and then BOOM!, I would do my wife right there and then, and I don't care who gets one last free show too.

News on TV could be taken skeptically. Vogon ships "hanging in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't" is less doubtful.
