It's not like it targets your butthole. It just stops you reflexively puckering up out of nervousness, and relaxes all your muscles. Generally makes the entire experience much more intense and visceral.

How high is the risk, though? And isn't that only with certain kinds? Isopropyl nitrite?

As a general philosophical point, butter causes heart disease and alcohol is literally poison. You shouldn't take any other recreational drugs either because they all have marked health risks. Goddamnit, is there anything good in this world that doesn't slowly kill you?

Golly gee, who would have thought that inhalling random chemicals is bad for your health. I'm starting to think maybe there is a reason why medical drugs go through literally a decade of trials before they're released for public use.

Thing is, isn't that quite a pricey and more long lasting solution? I mean, a jar of poppers will set you back likek $3 and the effects last for less than a minute per inhale, so it's easier to manage.

I wouldn't say it's going to hurt to try it. It's very mild. You could get the full effects and have it disappear in a few minutes, and then just never do it again if you don't like it.

I find it hard to be overly worried about the health risks inherent in poppers when I do so many things on a daily basis which are objectively bad for my health. Everything from sitting in a chair for hours to having a few beers after work each day.

Benzos are very addictive and are strongly linked to degenerative brain disease. Even doctors are moving away from prescribing them because of their issues.
