Being able to watch the whole series of any show, whenever you want?

I still prefer watching on TV. You enjoy a show more when you have to wait in between episodes, it builds anticipation. Also, I believe that changes can be made to later episodes in a season based upon audience reaction.

Another reason is that people will binge watch on Netflix as soon as a show releases, so if you watch the show weeks or months later, they aren't as interested in talking about it. On TV, everyone watches at the same time.

I hate week to week shows. Give me the whole season any day.

I do. That way I can watch on my schedule. If I have time now, I can watch now. If I don't, I can just pause until later.

Doesn't it dampen your enjoyment a bit when you don't have to wait or think or anticipate the next episode, you can just watch it a second later?

Like if we are all trying to figure out who Savitar is, but if it was on Netflix you would know a few minutes later.

I couldn't imagine watching a whole season in a day or 2. I love the week to week, or even just watching 1 episode every few days.

But, then again, I do have a life so sitting in a room for 10 hours isn't really possible for me.

No. I'd rather just experience all at the same time. I hate the "find out next week what the plot twist is" format of tv.

The only thing I miss about scheduled TV is the excitement and gossip around it. "Did you see that episode last night!" etc. Now it's just:
"oh you gotta watch X show, it's on netflix"
"oh yeah I'll get around to it at some point"

Yes, that's what I was referring to in my OP as well. It's hard to talk about Netflix shows with people since many people just say they'll get around to watching it, rather than tuning in every week.

I like weekly episodes because of the anticipation it builds and also because of the excited feeling of scheduling my day around a tv show--makes it seem more important. But like gatorsPENSbucs I don't have time to binge watch anything so I don't end up watching more than one or two episodes of anything on a given day.

I prefer having the option to watch when I want to rather than whenever it happens to be on.

Also makes it so much easier to schedule if you're watching with someone else too.

i dont really like binging shows... i hate how a show comes out and you need to basically avoid the internet until you finish the whole series because of spoilers, and i like having something to look forward to every week.

it's fun following a show for 3 months or something, whereas when you binge a show you burn through the whole season in a weekend and then you have to wait a year or more for something else to watch

Netflix should release an episode a week while keeping all the past eps up for viewing whenever.

Then when the show is done, people can binge watch the season whenever.

No.

I like it just because I can splurge when I have time and don't need to commit 30 mins to an hour a day to watch something. Even with something like game of thrones that gets simulcasted, I prefer to watch the episode when I feel like it rather than the very hour it's available.

Weekly release is strictly better than waiting for entire season to be done before being made available. Less of a wait.

Weekly release is fine, Netflix is fine too.

What's not fine is "weekly release" where there's some kind of break every few weeks which lasts for a few or several weeks. Midseason finale break is okay, but CW just got back from like 3 week break which feels like their 4th one this year.

Basically
Weekly release = Netflix release > "Weekly Release" with a shit ton of breaks.
