Other than Portal, obviously.

I remember playing that game and thinking "this is a fun tech demo but I can't wait until this becomes a FPS staple". That never happened did it?

It's funny you say that, because I remember the original Prey feeling like a tech demo for Portal. The portals were stationary, but it was most definitely the same concept, just an earlier version of it.

That'd be like if Ristar's stretchy arms became a platforming staple. Just because a gimmick is good doesn't mean it shouldn't stay a gimmick.
