Not necessarily why it's short though.

Still, I find that actually kind of neat. If you'll remember in Batman the animated series we had the perfect catwoman and blonde selina kyle, but she like many others suffered from the TNBA redesign, looking more childish and have short black hair (UGH)

However, an issue of the comics explains what happens. It turns out that all this time, Selina was dying her hair blonde, and found out that the company she bought her thingie that made the blond hair was animal testing on cats. In a rage she slashed at the heiress to that company and disfigured her face, which marked the point where Batman no longer cared for her or enjoyed their bat and cat chase game.

I mean, it's not bad. At least it's an explanation. And you actually sympathize a lot with all parties involved. I may not have liked TNBA as a kid but warmed up to it as an adult and Gotham Adventures, the comic set in the universe has some really good stories (like one with the riddler)

It was only ever blonde in the 1992 animated series though. And that short black hair is fierce and classic. I don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Have you tried catburgling with all that weighing on your neck? I didn't think so And we don't even want to talk about the inconvenience of washing it and keeping it looking fine for your day job as a socialite/conservation activist. And you can't superhero or anything for like a whole day after you wash it. Girl, please.

And the only time Bats wasn't thirsting after that bomb pussycat was when he was getting a little trim from 'Queen' Thalia Al-Ghul. And everybody knows how that turned out.

Animated Series Catwoman only had blonde hair as a nod to Michelle Pfeiffer from the movies
the character traditionally had black or dark brown hair otherwise

All the Catwoman actresses from the 60's show had dark hair

So yeah, pretty sure the only reason she was blonde in Batman TAS is because of Michelle Pfeiffer
