They were criticizing it for not presenting other alternatives to suicide. But I think the show was focusing more on other aspects, namely, think twice about the way you are treating someone else, and also, learn to recognize when someone might need help. I mean, at the end of the show,

Yeah, I heard the vibe is more "what to do if you know someone like this" rather than an attempt at fixing the mentally ill (which is definitely way above some TV writer's pay grade).
