I'm a sociopath so I don't know how to define friend. I hang out with guys, but I don't care about any of them. I fuck girls, but I have no feelings towards them.

Hmm ... probably 2, maybe 3.

My mother, of course. She was a single parent and we were in a rather authoritarian religion, so we became friends to avoid being outsiders. Even to this day, she treats me like a best friend more than a son.

My wife, for sure. We are best friends. We do everything together, barely spend any time apart. Even sleeping apart for a night is weird for us. We balance each other so well; I'm stern, stoic, quiet, well-read, logical, sometimes cold, and, honestly, a bit of a geezer and she is a candy-loving, energetic, loud, boisterous, emotional, athletic and delightfully sweet. It's like something out of a movie, honestly.

Other than that, probably my old guitar instructor. Despite our age difference, we have become rather close. He began teaching me when I was 13 and I continued until I moved away at 15 or 16. At that point he added me on Facebook and we kept in touch. By the time I was 19 we started hanging out, inviting each other to parties, etc. Now we are incredibly close, like brothers. He has stuck with me through some really bad times, and so have I.

Other than that, I can't even really say I have any friends. There is no one I see on a weekly basis and I spend most of my time alone.

The only friends I have are the ones from gamefaqs, and only maybe like 5 of them here. I voted top option.

Find friends with depression themselves. You guys will probably always forget to hang out, but they will understand why.

That's the thing, I think people who are like me and who I'd synchronize with really well stay at home and away from people like I mostly do, and also never open up either. All my other friends are jolly, simple and or extroverted which is a nice change of pace and allows me to have fun but I'll never have a true connection with anyone it seems.

I think finding a true friend is a matter of chance as much as anything else in life. You either stumble upon it or you don't

I have like 5-10 friends that I can call any time and ask for a favor. Whether it be helping out with something, loaning money etc. Basically anything I could ask for.

But I don't think that I've ever had a friend that I shared everything with. As in really personal stuff.
I actually think that I don't ever wanna do that.

Yeah, I get that. I managed to meet the two people I know I could do that with about 16 months ago (ironically through GameFAQs) so it can definitely be a long search.
