My mom tried for 20 years and ended up getting the surgery.

There are people who can literally try every diet, exercise routine, and any thing else you can think of and not lose weight. Don't judge other people uf you dont know their situation

I can't feel anything for Boogie at this point

At my worst weight I was probably like 310, that was in October when I was diagnosed with Kidney Disease. I probably lost about 10 pounds while I stayed in the hospital, maybe 10 more between getting out and Thanksgiving.

So I hovered around 290 up until around the start of March when all I did was eliminate snacking, started eating normal portions, and drank a little more water. Not even actually changing my diet (I still eat fast food occasionally, I just keep whatever it is small, and I still drink a soda for lunch usually) I'm now down to 258 this morning.

I mean, I started getting back into an exercise routine this week but still without any fucking real effort except not shoving food in my face all day I lost 50 pounds in the span of six months, 30 of which was in the span of two months.

Like Jesus fucking Christ Boogie, just put the fucking fork down. I get that it's hard but like after the first week you get used to it.

Edit: I dunno, it's just so hard knowing he's had every opportunity in the world and it just feels like he doesn't try. I hope surgery works out for him but I feel like if it really is mental like he says, he's not in the right state of mind to be getting the surgery and it's going to be a big mistake.

yeah im feeling this way about him too. i know boogie's backstory about his messed up childhood, still doesn't warrant the phrase "I TRIED EVERYTHING" no he didn't. he has mental neurosis and his current lifestyle has enablers that enables him to maintain his outstanding obesity.

you can only play the mental illness card for so long. yea it's tough but at a certain point you have to make a change or die. all boogie would have to do to drop a ton of weight is just eat SLIGHTLY less. there was some dude on bodybuilding.com who was like 500lbs and he lost a shitload of weight by just eating something like 3 quesadillas for dinner instead of 4 lol

The reason he does videos like that is a form of therapy for him, to just ramble on. His childhood is a big reason for it, prob got mental illness from family members too. Things have reasons, you don't magically become something.

I've met a lot of people that have given many excuses for their obesity (birth control pills, thyroid condition, etc, exercise "not working"), but every single time I've gotten to view their eating and/or exercise habits, it immediately became clear what the real reason was.

I'm not saying that there aren't people that have issues, hell there is even an example of a legit case in this topic, but it's just hard for me to believe the average fat person.

People who say they tried everything are lying. Plain and simple. They probably try something and give up after 2 weeks. That's not how it works. Consistency is how it works. Same with working out and building muscle. People give up after a few weeks. It's about consistency.

I largely subscribe to gut flora and the whole 2nd brain thing. I got fat after college. In late high school and college I was eating more and more fast food/fried foods and when I started working full time after college was eating more take out and fast food while not exercising 2-3 hours a day like I did basically from 8 years to 22.

I had constant hunger and most stuff didn't taste good. I had to basically go cold turkey from processed foods for about 4-6 months at which point keeping a regular diet became a breeze. But it was the worst thing I've ever had to go through. I would wake up punching myself in the leg so I could ignore the pain in my stomach.

I agree that it's rooted in mental illness, which is sad. I'd equate it to people being depressed and neglecting their personal hygiene.

The problem with weight loss, you have to be in it for the long haul. These "tried everything" people need to realize that you don't just hit the gym for a month or go on a fad diet for a few weeks and expect everything to change overnight. You don't reverse years of neglect and hormonal imbalances, etc.. in an instant. You might have to be extremely disciplined for several months before you begin to notice any changes, but they will come.

The mental illness thing is a killer, though. The majority of overweight people are unlikely to have the motivation or discipline necessary to change their lifestyle.

He has given up easily on a few tries. I was dissapointed he dropped the ddp yoga.
