Here's the thing

I think Hillary would've been a good President. Certainly far better than Trump

The issue is

A) Would the Dems have gotten a majority in the Senate/House had she won?
B) How would the GOP have behaved?


If the Dems hadn't gotten a majority in the House or Senate, it would've been pretty much 2014-2016 all over again. A Democratic President and an obstructionist Republican legislature. Nothing would get done, the Dems would likely have been slaughtered in the 2018 midterms, and the GOP could very likely have obtained a very large majority in the Senate.

The GOP, by all indications, was completely on board with obstructing Clinton and hamstringing her Presidency. Hell, Chaffetz on the Oversight Committee openly bragged about having two years of investigations lined up from day 1.

There's also the issue with Russia. Had Trump lost, their backup plan was to keep finding ways to push Clinton or delegitimize her Presidency. No idea what form that would take, though I assume it would be bad.



tl;dr: Clinton would've been a better President, but too many factors stemming from her winning are ultimately undesirable.

Your topic title and poll question are different.

Yes Hillary would be the better president, but it's still better that Trump won.

Trump is on track to becoming the best president in U.S. history.

The one good thing I've always said about Hillary is that she defeated Bernie the communist. That is definitely something good she did for the country and deserves recognition for.

Honestly Hillary, even though during the election I considered Trump the lesser of two evils. That was on the assumption that his major stances were all bluffs/for votes.
