Trying to figure out which is better. Sometimes when I go running I don't feel like hauling ass, so I go slowly but at a greater distance. But there are days when I don't feel like being in the gym forever, so I just run quickly. Does it make a difference?

High intensity burns fat faster.

Do you run on a treadmill? If so, I find speed intervals to be the best.

Doesn't make much of a difference. Generally I'd say going slowly for longer will be better for you though, as you'll still have an elevated heart rate for a long period of time. That's what it's really about.

Get one of those pedal machines where it does the peddling for you. Crank up the speed a bit and let the machine do the work for you.

If you're trying to burn more calories or improve your cardio, do more miles, even if it's at a slower pace.

Yeah do speed intervals.

Start at a slow pace, run for five minutes to warm up then switch from jogs to running speed every 1-2 minutes.
