It's not the worst thing ever like I've heard from some people. But it definitely feels like a good bit more work needed to go into this.

Like is this it? I'm not completely let down but it feels hollow. How could things turn out this way, there was no big publisher to meddle with or rush the project, so what went wrong?

No offense if this is a real post but I swear I've seen this exact topic at least a few times...

Maybe other people have made it, but I didn't do it to copy anyone

So soon people forget how gaming used to be back in the N64 days. That was the entire point of this game, was to feel like an old school platformer. Yooka does nothing less than all of those nostalgic hits like Banjo did, it's just a lot of how we remember them compared to modern demands of gaming. It did what people asked for. Rarely did games back then have tremendous depth and longevity, a 5-7 hour game with no reason to replay it was very common.

i don't see what feels unfinished about it?

i guess some of the mechanics could have used a bit more polish (the mine cart segments for sure) but everything is fully fleshed out, the levels are huge with a lot to do, the hub is fully realized, there's good variety in the bosses, all the moves have multiple uses and are used reasonably often, there's huge variety in what you do to get pagies, etc

took me 25 hours to 100%, that's definitely a good amount for a game of this type
