Why do people who work in food service and other dead-end jobs think that they deserve to work?

If a business doesn't need you, they don't need you - it's as simple as that. They don't owe you anything. It's your job to become marketable in a world where certain 'skills' are becoming valueless.

Well my guess is if you work at a certain place long enough and knows the ends and out of the place and business then you should at least be respected for loyalty and hard work. Now if you come in and start demanding shit like you know everything then yeah you don't deserve shit. I feel this way even if you're experienced or have a million degrees and certification. Your work ethics and attitude means much more than anything else IMO.

I remember going to like 5 interviews and they hired me at 3 places. I told them "I treat business like numbers like you treat potential employees like numbers, I have no issue doing this and I don't care that you need me, I needed something and the other business gave it to me"

Yes and you should do it too. The manager at one place was extremely rude to their employees, I saw that job as a filler job before finding something better. Everyone should do it.

How are people with no skills and no money supposed to attain those skills? And what do we do with them in the interim? What if they are too poor or stupid to be more?

Some people just don't get opportunities because society has a dumb "either you got it or not" mentality even though a lot of "underdogs" eventually became rich businessmen.

There's almost always an entry level job that can open more doors for you. I don't know how people have the logic to want to improve their lives but don't know how.

Even low entry level jobs ask for experience.

Then the company is more likely to be unreasonable it's better to not work with them. I see places asking for BAs, 3-5 years experience and only willing to pay 15 an hour.

Stop making survival dependent on working and people will stop demanding work. Until then, yeah there will be entitlement, as someone doesn't deserve to die just because people don't think they're a good worker.

Alright - I'll speak to the top brass. Hopefully they can rewire all of humanity to stop making survival based around working (which, by the way, is not entirely true. Homeless shelters exist. If you're too lazy to develop a skill, you deserve to live in one).

We're going to need to start building "people kennels" for humans who basically provide no value to society and are completely dependent and waiting for other people to take care of them. They will be like dog kennels but for people.
