Learn to draw hexagons. And lots of lines.

In all seriousness, if you have good memorization skills, it's not too bad. It's boring, but it has pretty easy to follow rules. There's just a lot of rules.

Unless you have a perfect memory, it's a class you actually have to put in some effort and practice practice practice.

Not bad conceptually though.

Not in organic chemistry. And even in normal chemistry, it's not difficult if you know basic algebra.

I'm going to take the ACS gen chem final in less than a month.

Advice? I aced chem I and I have a B+ in chem II right now. It's not that hard so far.

It's not so bad, they ask some very basic questions from Chem I so it's not bad at all. I can't speak for your school and how in depth they go but I'd imagine you won't struggle too much if you prepare. It really isn't a hard test if you factor in the curve.

I hear there may be 1 or 2 carbon atoms involved.

I got an A in AP chemistry in highschool, 5 on the AP test, I got an A, and 2 A+'s in my 3 trimesters of Gen Chem in undergrad. I got straight B's in O-chem. Its completely different than anything you learned before in any other class. I took it for grantid, I overloaded myself with extracurriculars and didnt put in the effort needed in O-chem and I suffered because of it. I subsequently went on to get straight A's in Physical chemistry and biochemistry.

TC if you ever need ochem help hit me up. I've been a tutor for organic chemistry college students for 2 full years now. Which isn't a long time, but I've been reviewing the stuff for 3 total years now. We CEmen stick together.

It's honestly not as bad as some people make it out to be (especially pre-meds).

Thanks.

What kind of questions are on the ACS gen chem final? Is is balanced between chem I and chem II? Are there any lab procedural questions? Critical thinking questions? History of chemistry questions?

"Normal" chemistry?

There's a lot of math in theoretical and computational chemistry, like what I do.

Assuming he is talking about general chemistry, like the basic intro to chemistry course.
