I remember a national geographic documentary that said that there were animals not unlike mice which survived the meteor and evolved into primates

See the 'before homo' section

For reference, these were from ~65 million years ago

Yeah I guess they're more lemurs than mice like someone said

I think I read that it's not like dinosaurs died because of meteor impacts, but because the meteors lifted up sun-blocking stuff into the atmosphere, leaving reptiles unable to warm up.
But now that dinosaurs are warm-blooded birds, I don't know.

Dinosaurs did not go extinct from the asteroid impact, they evolved into birds.

No, some birds were the only dinosaurs to survive the extinction. Birds were already around at the same time as other dinosaurs.

Anyways, to answer your question, TC, primates are believed to have already evolved during the Cretaceous, so there was some monkey/lemur like ancestor living at that time that survived the extinction event.

I meant as a whole.

99% of all life that existed on planet earth is now extinct. Saying Dinosaurs are extinct because only some of them survived is like saying Sharks are extinct because megalodons are extinct.

I meant as a whole.

But that is not true. Dinos, like the Triceratops and other sauropods like the long necks were wiped out fully. Only the bird like dinos evolved.
