During the panel, Filoni told the crowd of fans, "I really appreciate that love from you guys. I think I can make this story as meaningful as can be." He stressed ending the show now was his decision, adding, "I know what it's like when I don't get to end a series," referring to Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which infamously had the plug pulled on it with a couple more seasons planned at the time.

The timeline of Star Wars Rebels, which began about five years before the events of the original Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, has always raised questions about where these characters were during the events of the original trilogy, especially Jedi like Kanan and Ezra, whose presence in the Rebel Alliance at the same time as Luke Skywalker seems highly questionable. Rogue One established that Hera and the Ghost crew’s droid, Chopper, were at least still Rebels, stationed on Yavin 4, in the timeframe of A New Hope, but there is still plenty to learn about where everyone else ended up… including whether they survived.

I'm glad it's ending. Just another Disney disappointment with the Star Wars brand name. There have been very few satisfying episodes and the series as a whole is vastly inferior to Clone Wars.

Bad decision after bad decision. Whether it was the Team Rocket style Inquisitors, 75% of the episodes being boring filler, the epic fight with Vader only to have Ahsoka go limping off into the rubble of the temple afterwards, to hyping up Maul STILL wanting his revenge on old ass Obi-Wan for over a season only to have the fight be a huge disappointment.

It's a shame because the series brought us some interesting new characters. If they do another Star Wars series hopefully it will be something better.

first season was yeah pretty meh, but i though the rest of the series so far had been pretty great

a bunch of people really went crazy analyzing this fight and while underwhelming at first reading all the details people were bringing up made it much more interesting

How can you like a fight that ended in two moves? The anticipation and long build up to the fight was fun. From the first time Ezra and Maul both touched the holocron we knew he was looking for Kenobi. Maul was still shown to be a tough fighter even though he had aged. For him to go down in 5 seconds to Kenobi was disappointing.

Just watched the episode where Callus and Zev get stuck on the ice moon together. Feel really bad for Callus. The empire doesn't even notice one of it's officers is missing? Tf?

Hate to hear that it'll end in a couple years but good on filoni for wanting to end it on his terms. Knowing Disney though they'll just cut him out and keep it going under someone new. Unless they're going to plan a post Jedi series that takes place before force awakens.

i thought it was a fitting end to him.

it would not be a good idea to make that fight five minutes long like every other jedi fight ever.
